Ephemera, proof sheets and correspondence relating to the publication of the Officina Bodoni's "L'Oleandro" by Gabriele D'Annunzio (1936) and "San Zeno" (1937). The collection contains: 1. Five postcard size prints from pages of "L'Oleandro" (p. 9, 12, 13, 18, 19); 2. Three proofs for "San Zeno" with annotations by Mardersteigh; 3. Manuscript letter from G. Mardersteig to Gunter Böhmer, dated 2 Okt. 60 (1 sheet); 4. Drawing by Gunter Böhmer, proof frontispiece and proof title page for v. 3 of the apparently unpublished "Tutte le opere di Giorgio Vasari" edizione critica nazionale; 5. Prospectus for "L'Oleandro"; 6. Twenty leaves of proofs for "L'Oleandro" printed on various papers and in different colors; 7. Suite of lithographs from "L'Oleandro" in blue on Japanese paper (1 of 5 suites issued); 8. Seven progressive proofs for "L'Oleandro" of water carrier and youth with donkey by Böhmer, illustration probably not used in final publication, final proof has a portrait of Mardersteig in lower right corner; 9. Fourteen proofs for "L'Oleandro" printed in blue; 10. Sixteen proofs for "L'Oleandro" printed in red-brown/sanguine.

Officina Bodoni was a private hand-press established by Giuseppe Mardersteig (1892-1977) in 1922. The press moved to Verona, Italy in 1927. Mardersteig quickly became known for his fine work and typographic design. Officina Bodoni produced over 200 books and pamphlets, including several special commissions by other publishers.
